Hi again, pax. ("Pax" is travel business lingo for "passengers." And we sure do love using lingo, so...) News time again.

Cancellation Policy and Deposit Schedule Changes

As COVID-19 continues to morph everyone's schedules, plans and situations into large, amorphous question marks, we continue to monitor the situation and remain in regular communication with our associates at Holland America and other travel industry partners and contacts.

In the meantime, we also continue to all navigate together toward JoCo Cruise 2021. ("Navigate?" Get it? ...nautical.) And as a part of that process, in order to give folks additional "breathing room" during the Current Uncertainty, we have revised our cancellation policy schedule and our deposit schedule.

1. Cancellation Policy

Most importantly, we have extended our "penalty-free cancellation" window: you can now cancel your JoCo Cruise 2021 booking at any time without penalty through October 1, 2020 . We've also delayed the dates at which increased cancellation fees apply.

The full, revised cancellation fee schedule, which can also be found in our FAQ , is as follows:

  • Cancellation on or before October 1, 2020: Full refund
  • Cancellation from October 2 through November 30, 2020: $500 per person
  • Cancellation from December 1, 2020 through January 15, 2021: 50% of the total booking price
  • Cancellation on or after January 16, 2021: 100% of the total booking price (no refund)

2. Deposit Schedule

Below is the revised minimum deposit schedule for JoCo Cruise 2021 (it can also be found on our Pricing Page ):

  • Due at time of booking: $500 per person
  • For those who qualified for a reduced initial deposit or who booked while onboard JoCo Cruise 2020, a total of $500 per person is due by May 28, 2020
  • by August 1, 2020: an additional $500 per person (i.e., a total to date of $1000 per person)
  • by October 1, 2020: an additional $500 per person (i.e., a total to date of $1500 per person)
  • by January 15, 2021: remaining balance in full

Thank you all again for believing in JoCo Cruise over the years. It literally continues to support us as planning for 2021 (and beyond!) goes forward. As noted above, we also remain in constant touch with our cruise industry contacts, and continue monitoring their plans and progress toward the necessary measures required to ensure a safe and healthy return to the seas for everyone.

All that said, we absolutely understand the many and serious ways the COVID-19 outbreak is affecting people, including financially. So if you’re currently experiencing financial hardship due to the effects of this pandemic that may affect your ability to make upcoming deposits, but still definitely wish to attend JoCo Cruise 2021, please email us at booking@jococruise.com .
