A Possible Second JoCo Cruise 2026 Sailing March 28 - April 4, 2026

TL;DR: if enough people are interested, we may be able to have a new, second JoCo Cruise 2026 sailing on March 28 - April 4, 2026. As current passengers on the existing (March 21-28) JoCo Cruise 2026, you don't need to do anything at this time, but if this new sailing becomes a reality you'll be given the opportunity to either extend or switch your booking if you wish.

Hello, JoCo Cruise 2026 attendees.

As you likely know, JoCo Cruise 2026 (sailing March 21-28, 2026 on the Nieuw Amsterdam) is currently sold out. The wait list for this sailing is also very large. VERY large.

We may have an unexpected and unique opportunity to charter the Nieuw Amsterdam for a second JoCo Cruise sailing the week immediately following—that is, from March 28 - April 4, once again out of San Diego.

While there are still many open questions about this potential new March 28th sailing, please assume the following to be true:

  • It will have the same itinerary as the March 21st sailing (sailing from San Diego to Cabo San Lucas, Loreto, and Pichilingue (La Paz), Mexico)
  • It will have the same retail pricing structure as the March 21st sailing
  • The performer/guest lineup will likely be different, although there may be some overlap

While we work with HAL to determine whether this additional sailing is possible, we will be attempting to gauge the true demand for it. As part of that, on April 1st people not already booked on JoCo Cruise 2026 will be given the opportunity to place a $500 deposit that would give them early access to book the new March 28th sailing. Further information about all this can be found on our “ JoCo Cruise 2026 - Two Cruises?” Page and FAQ . (This includes a couple FAQ items relating to those with existing 2026 bookings.)

As passengers already booked on the current March 21st sailing of JoCo Cruise 2026, you do not have to do anything at this time. If this new second sailing becomes a reality, we’ll provide further details, and any existing 2026 JoCo Cruisers who wish to either extend your booking to include this second week or to switch your booking to the March 28th sailing will be given priority access to do so before anyone else.

Once again, to be clear: if you’re booked on the March 21st sailing already and are interested in attending this new March 28th sailing, do not go through the $500 deposit process at this time. You’re welcome to discuss this new development amongst yourselves; and you’re also encouraged to pass this information along to any friends and family who might be interested. And should it become a reality, we promise we’ll give you a lot more detailed information as to how this all will work.

IMPORTANT: This new sailing date on the Nieuw Amsterdam is currently available as a “regular” retail sailing. Do not book this departure date directly through Holland America (or anyone else)! "Regular" retail bookings made through HAL or third parties are not transferable to any JoCo Cruise sailing. Passengers adding bookings to that sailing right now would, in fact, further hinder our ability to secure the ship for that week.

We know this is all kinda bonkers-pants, and that it’s a lot to process so quickly. And we know that you may have many additional questions regarding this new March 28th sailing. (So do we!) Again, please refer to our “ JoCo Cruise 2026 - Two Cruises?” Page and FAQ for additional details and answers to many questions about it. We thank you all, as always, for your continued enthusiasm and support for this event. Lots more info to come…Soon™!

JoCo Cruise.

P.S. To be absolutely clear: no, this is not an April Fool’s joke.
