Site Inspection
We in the Home Office just completed the "site inspection," wherein we travel on the Westerdam , meet with the various department heads, and go over our plans for JCC2017.
We can't talk a whole lot of detail yet, but we can note the following:
- The crew are unfailingly accommodating and friendly; they're going to be a pleasure to work with.
- This past week's sailing was full, but it never felt overcrowded or oppressive. Bodes well.
- The weather on this trip was mostly similar to that of previous JCCs: temperatures generally in the mid/high-70s during the day, less humid than the Caribbean. Being on deck at night was less blustery/cold than in years past, though still definitely colder than during the days (usually mid-60s or so), and the wind did kick up on a couple nights.
- The culinary staff are looking forward to our event—we've specifically requested at least one "ethnic" dish on each night's dinner menu, and told them to "feel free to show off."
- We'll be flying a JoCo Cruise flag from the ship's top mast. (Does this make us pirates? Will we have established our own floating country?)
- The late-night pizza will be... exactly what you expect it to be.

Are your passports in order? Good. Make triple sure you pack them with you when you leave for San Diego. You know how we worry.
Online Check-in
